SERIES 103 PART 2 with Jan Jurgielewicz and Andrew Greeney added in on drums

  • PART 2 of SERIES 103 The Master Sessions OF MARVIN BU GA LU SMITH FEATURES Jan Jurgielewicz and Andrew Greeney in the 2nd and third song. MARVIN BU GA LU SMITH opens playing drums on the first slow, a slow song with wonderful rich tone from SCHNITTERS HORN and beautiful ideas by both David Schnitter and RON PETRIDES. I loved the 9 minutes of sensitive smooth sounds that came out of these four MASTERS PLAYING TOGETHER. THE REAL SURPRISE OF THE EVENING WAS TO HEAR JAN JURGIELEWICZ LAY DOWN THE BOSSA GROOVE ON THE SECOND SONG AND PLAY SOME WONDERFUL COMPING IDEAS BEHIND THE CATS. MAN, JAN JURGIELEWICZ SOUNDS FANTASTIC AND I COMMEND HIM HERE IN THIS SERIES 103 AND HONOR HIM AS A GREAT PLAYING DRUMMER ON THIS TUNE. THIS SHOULD BE A GREAT GROWTH "BASIS OF MEASUREMENT FOR HIS FUTURE PROGRESS AND A GOOD MEASUREMENT OF HOW QUICKLY PROFESSIONAL SOUNDING PLAYING CAN EVOLVE IF A PLAYER CONTINUES TO LOSE EGO AND WORK HARD ON UNDERSTANDING STRUCTURES OF TUNES AND COMPOSITION BY LISTENING HARD THEN INTERPRETING THROUGH SELF EXPRESSION. YEAH, THIS SESSION PART 2 IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF JAN JURGIELEWICZ'S WONDERFUL PLAYING AND IT SHOWS HOW SUCCESSFUL Marvin Bu Ga Lu Smith's teaching methods are. We now have Jan and Andrew documented together here on this recording. Andrew sounds so great, as usual, on the third, swinging tune. I simply enjoyed every minute of both PART 1 and PART 2 of SERIES 103, Better Than Hollywood, THE MASTER SESSIONS OF MARVIN BU GA LU SMITH,ONE OF THE GREATEST DRUMMER/EDUCATORS IN THE WORLD, with over 1,000 videos like this one and all of them UNIQUELY SPECIAL!
    LOVE ALWAYS and ALWAYS LOVE,
    HABIB
