Live @ Bull and Buddha concert 3 22 2012 better then Hollywood series 130 the master sessions
The music starts out with a "CARAVAN" of fun and that's the name of this great Ellington tune, "CARAVAN". The band of course is a caravan of fun right here at The Bull & Buddha. It is another great concert night with Dr. Marvin Smith the leader of this trio with Dave Savitsky on sax and the great Robert Kopec on bass. Listening to Dave play that smooth and very FUNKY SAX, made me realize how great it is to blend all styles of music together and come out with great jazz that young people can easily understand as the grooves are always being placed together in such a wonderful, funky way. Master Robert Kopec does it for me everytime I hear him throwing down hard with The Master, Dr. Marvin injecting such pleasurable spirit behind all the players that get together with him every Thursday evening right here in poughkeepsie NY at this magical place called Bull & Buddha and by the way, the food and the customers are all sensational. Listencarefully to this great tune and enjoy THE CARAVAN of magical love. Love Always and Always Love..............HABIB.
Yeah "THERE IS NO GREATER LOVE" and that is the truth when you listen to all the joy that Dr. Marvin Smith,Robert Kopec and David Savitsky put down on this song. I loved the exchanges between Dr. Marvin Smith and the other two Cats as they traded continuously with each other and again, the music was so very easy to understand. The feeling within the music was PURE FLOW HARMONY and the song moved along effortlessly and then, all of a sudden, Smith and Kopec traded 4's so brilliantly and with breath and nice space. Marvin always makes me want to cry with joy everytime I hear him play. By the way, I must compliment Andrew Greeney on the great engineering and Dr. Marvin Smith on the Masterful Mixing. The mic placement was great as it is always difficult capturing this great quality of sound in any venue outside of a controlled studio. LOVE ALWAYA and ALWAYS LOVE..........HABIB
